One extended cruise circling the Land Down Under is being halted following the fatal incident of an senior female passenger who was stranded by the vessel on a remote coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a rest. The liner left without her and went back after some time after the personnel realised the woman was not present.

An extensive rescue mission discovered her person the next day.

Authorities are examining the tragedy, in coordination with police and the state coroner.
